Are you an emerging artist in grades K-12?
Big Writers, Little Ears is our newest program featuring short audio stories crafted by student travel writers. This fall, thanks to support from the National Endowment for the Arts, we will showcase these stories in a hard-bound, print collection of mini-adventures just for young readers.
We’re currently soliciting custom artwork from students in grades k-12 to complement each of our stories. Students should select one episode from our Bedtime Stories Podcast (listed in the comments below) and use their talents to create a 2-D illustration that best represents the story in a visually engaging way. Paints, ink, pencil, photography, or mixed media is welcome as long as it’s your own original work. Please, no copyrighted imagery.

Submission Guidelines
Students are encouraged to submit more than one illustration. However, they should not submit more than one illustration for the same episode. All artwork must be created in portrait format no smaller than 8.5″ x 11″ in size (300 DPI if digital).
Entries can be emailed to info@travelnitch.org as a hi-resolution JPG or PNG file, with the subject line: I am a Visual Storyteller. Please include your full name, age, city and state. The file name should include the title of the episode you depicted in your submission. We will select one winning illustration for each episode.
Winners will receive a $50 Amazon gift card, an Art Supply Kit, AND a free copy of our book featuring their artwork. Good luck!

Friends For Life Diabetes
At Travelnitch, we create opportunities for shared learning, so parents and children can explore the world together.
We deliver new and exciting experiences to encourage dialogue and provoke curiosity. For that reason, we have three primary goals: – Strengthen the bond between parent and child through a shared love of travel. – Forge a more meaningful connection between kids and the world around them. – Promote creative learning to inspire a lifelong passion for exploration.
Friends For Life Diabetes
Travel plays such an important role in our lives. It has the ability to change us for the better. It’s an experiential education that teaches us how to feel, think, act, and react in positive ways. Travel fosters creativity, builds confidence, and teaches us all to be more tolerant. My own kids benefit from travel every time we hit the open road. No amount of money can buy those life lessons.
Travelnitch is inspiring the next generation of explorers. We believe travel is a wonderful way to ignite the imagination and get kids excited about the world. However, we need your help to make this possible. Please spread the word and support our efforts to raise citizens of the world. Let’s go on this adventure together!
