Think Outside Boxes
We have reviewed quite a few kids’ travel products up to this point, but none have impressed us quite like Think Outside. I knew going in we would be a bit biased, already having such a fondness for the great outdoors. However, above and beyond our obvious interest, I was blown away by the quality (and quantity) of content that goes into each box.
Thinking (and Learning) “Outside the Box”

I won’t lie, when someone utters the phrase “subscription service” I tend to cringe. Too many companies forget (or just don’t care) that not everyone has hundreds of dollars to throw at these little luxuries in life. Think Outside is one of the few companies I have come across that caters to this not-so-insignificant fact. They offer a month-to-month option, with the freedom to cancel at anytime. For those on the fence, start with an introductory box (save on a new subscription). It comes with a surprisingly large backpack and plenty of fun activities to get your kid out exploring and learning. If it’s not a good fit—no harm, no foul.
Think Outside Boxes
Beyond that, each month features an entirely new outdoor theme—wildlife, nature, shelter. For those who home or road school, the annual subscription makes for a great outdoor curriculum. From first aid to night time discovery, your child will love learning about life outside the box! You can even get a sneak peak at the entire year’s lesson plan here.
What to Expect

Each Think Outside box starts at $40, with discounted rates for longer-term subscriptions. I might have considered the investment to be “too much” before really knowing what to expect; but the amount of gear they squeeze into one box is quite magical. Our initiation box came with a backpack, bear bell, lanyard (for a keychain), and plenty of recommended activities to keep us busy for hours. Think Outside was also kind enough to share an additional weather box, which included a safari-style hat, rain fly, emergency blanket, neck gaiter, resource cards and activity book. Wow!
We can safely say, this is hands down our favorite product review so far. In fact, we were so blown away by our first box that we are now paying customers! Whether you commit to one month or twelve, it’s definitely worth a try, especially if your family is looking for a fun way to spend more time outdoors.
