About the Book
The World’s Most Atrocious Animals offers a fresh take on some of the world’s most interesting (and fearsome) creatures. Told in two different voices—an antagonist who points out the scariest aspects of each creature and the narrator who provides factual, engaging information about each one—this book is sure to delight kids of all ages. Complete with fun, bright illustrations, this book will be a favorite for any animal lover.
This book was such a wonderful read. I really liked the contemporary-style illustrations of these fearsome animals featured throughout the book. Bunting is a very gifted artist and his illustrations make these creatures leap right off the page and into your heart.
I also enjoyed learning about these “atrocious” animals. Told with wit and humor, the reader learns that the anaconda “…doesn’t chew its food. Terrible table manners…” and the hairy frog is “known to kermit hideous crimes.” While some jokes may go over the heads of our tiniest readers, they are sure to delight the older crowd. Did you know…the Tasmanian devil is “Mother Nature’s vacuum cleaner” and the Redback spider “spends way too much time on the web.” Haha!
This book is bursting with fun facts and interesting tidbits about some of the most spectacular animals sharing this planet with us. The World’s Most Atrocious Animals provides a great opportunity to get to know them better and form your own opinions about whether or not these reputations are deserved. Perhaps we should be a little more open-minded about these fearsome creatures?

Travel plays such an important role in our lives. It has the ability to change us for the better. It’s an experiential education that teaches us how to feel, think, act, and react in positive ways. Travel fosters creativity, builds confidence, and teaches us all to be more tolerant. My own kids benefit from travel every time we hit the open road. No amount of money can buy those life lessons.
Travelnitch is inspiring the next generation of explorers. We believe travel is a wonderful way to ignite the imagination and get kids excited about the world. However, we need your help to make this possible. Please spread the word and support our efforts to raise citizens of the world. Let’s go on this adventure together!
