About the Book
The collage-style illustrations found in Britta Johanna’s newest book are sure to captivate any reader from the very first page. Its whimsical words take you from one page to the next in search of a young girl’s doppelgänger. That One Green Tile takes us on a curious trek around the world only to discover, in the end, we are all one of a kind.
In this rhyming, melodic story, a mother tells her little girl that somewhere in the world lives another little girl who looks just like her. This propels her daughter into a journey of the imagination, where she visits locales from Spain to Japan, visualizing this other person in her familiar surroundings.
On this journey we can’t help but imagine someone who looks just like us living a life just like ours—playing as we do or gazing up at the same moon each and every night. While this look-alike may share our face, we begin to wonder if they also share the same dreams or wish for the same things. What we come to realize is, despite all that we have in common, each person is special. There is only one you.

That One Green Tile
Travel plays such an important role in our lives. It has the ability to change us for the better. It’s an experiential education that teaches us how to feel, think, act, and react in positive ways. Travel fosters creativity, builds confidence, and teaches us all to be more tolerant. My own kids benefit from travel every time we hit the open road. No amount of money can buy those life lessons.
