Kia ora ,
I know it was a long journey but I’m so happy you are finally here. There is so much to see in New Zealand and I can’t wait to share it all with you!
I’ve been spending a lot of my free time exploring the beautiful landscape and learning about this island’s unique wildlife. Did you know that New Zealand is the only place you can find the flightless bird called the kiwi? This is why the people who live here are also called Kiwis.
The official language of New Zealand is English, but a small population of indigenous people also speak Māori—indigenous means that they were the first known inhabitants of this lovely island. They were also one of the first countries in the world to make sign language an official language.
Everyone here is so welcoming. Some new friends even offered to take me bungee jumping off the Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown! I’m not sure I’m brave enough to take that leap, but Kiwis just love their extreme sports—try your hand at our Kahoots quiz to learn more:
Don’t forget to leave me a note when you’re done traveling—I’d love to hear about how much you enjoyed New Zealand.
Until we meet again, happy travels!
