Friends For Life Diabetes
Our family travelled from Durand, Michigan to Orlando, Florida and attended the Friends For Life type one diabetes conference. We went swimming, made friends, and learned so much about diabetes care and research. We can’t thank you enough for your help, we couldn’t have done it without you!

In April of 2022, 7 year old Daphne Bowers was diagnosed with Type One diabetes. Her mom Amellia shared, “As a family, we are learning how to thrive, but it’s not without its challenges.”

While learning to navigate this new way of life, the Bowers family was awarded a scholarship to attend the Friends For Life type one diabetes conference in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately, a recent job loss left them unable to cover travel expenses from their hometown of Durand, Michigan.
With a son who suffers from both Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, traveling by plane wasn’t an option. A grant from Travelnitch allowed them to rent a car for the week. Having their own transportation meant avoiding long walks back and forth between the hotel and convention center during lunch breaks. “It was a true life saver in the three digit heat.” It also gave the Bowers family more time to explore together outside of the conference.
Amellia says her kids love adventures big & small but this was, by far, the biggest trip they’ve ever taken. We are so grateful to our donors (big & small) who make moments like this possible!

“Grant” a Family
the Gift of Travel

A love of travel begins with curiosity, but real transformation happens out on the road.
Travelnitch grants provide funding for families who might not otherwise have the access and opportunity to travel together.
Friends For Life Diabetes
At Travelnitch, we create opportunities for shared learning, so parents and children can explore the world together.
We deliver new and exciting experiences to encourage dialogue and provoke curiosity. For that reason, we have three primary goals: – Strengthen the bond between parent and child through a shared love of travel. – Forge a more meaningful connection between kids and the world around them. – Promote creative learning to inspire a lifelong passion for exploration.

Travel plays such an important role in our lives. It has the ability to change us for the better. It’s an experiential education that teaches us how to feel, think, act, and react in positive ways. Travel fosters creativity, builds confidence, and teaches us all to be more tolerant. My own kids benefit from travel every time we hit the open road. No amount of money can buy those life lessons.
Travelnitch is inspiring the next generation of explorers. We believe travel is a wonderful way to ignite the imagination and get kids excited about the world. However, we need your help to make this possible. Please spread the word and support our efforts to raise citizens of the world. Let’s go on this adventure together!
