Dry Tortugas National Park with kids
This [grant] is so wonderful. My son was ecstatic when I told him that we would be going to the Dry Tortugas—one of the natural and cultural wonders in our own backyard!
Sonia L.
Sonia is a single mom. She lives in a small, one-bedroom apartment in Florida with her 8-year-old son. They love their mother-son adventures and nothing makes them happier than spending time together outdoors: camping, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling.

Not only is her son a great student, athlete, and friend to others, but he is a kind and caring child who wants to help the environment. He organized his first beach clean-up at the tender age of six after seeing so much debris along the shoreline. He is always thinking of ways to be environmentally responsible and Sonia does what she can to foster his love of nature, outdoor recreation, and stewardship.
An excursions grant from Travelnitch gave her the opportunity to do just that—by spending time exploring a natural wonder right in their own backyard!
Together, they enjoyed breakfast and lunch aboard a high-speed catamaran, hopped over to visit Fort Jefferson and snorkeled in Dry Tortugas National Park, just 70 miles west of Key West, Florida. This day-trip would normally be cost-prohibitive for Sonia and her son, but a grant from Travelnitch made it all possible. Your support makes it all possible!

“Grant” a Family
the Gift of Travel

A love of travel begins with curiosity, but real transformation happens out on the road.
Travelnitch grants provide funding for families who might not otherwise have the access and opportunity to travel together.
