A Taste of Travel

a taste of travel

I’ll admit it, I’m not a huge fan of cooking, but we do love trying new foods. So, once in a while, we’ll open up a recipe book, find something different, and give it a go. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen as much as I’d like — mainly because our time is limited and I’m far more likely to spend it out and about, than in the kitchen.

Eat Your Way Around the World

That being said, there are other ways to get a taste of travel, without ever leaving home. Companies like Universal Yums offer a snack delivery service, with new tasty treats arriving on your doorstep from countries around the globe.

What we love most about this company is their story. It’s a tale of two lovebirds who want to travel the world but, instead of saving up for their next trip, they invest money in this grand idea that allows them to quit their corporate jobs. Now, they are literally helping people eat their way around the world!

Know All Your Options

SnackCrates is similar, but they provide a variety of snacks from a different country each month (which we really like). Unfortunately, the prices get a bit steep after the first month, with only one size being offered. I don’t know about you, but I prefer options.

If you’re a foodie looking for the more upscale version, check out Try the World. They offer much smaller boxes of gourmet snack foods. Just know going in that you’ll pay for quality.

Eat, Eat Some More, and Be Merry

I promise, we are not affiliated with any of these companies. It’s just another, FUN way to give your kids a taste of travel at an affordable price. You may not love every snack, but it’s something you can try together and those you dislike will make for interesting conversation — kinda like Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans.

With the holidays fast approaching, this would make a great gift for the little nomads in your life. Time to start snacking!

Let us review your product: Do you make or sell a product that encourages children to consider the road less traveled, venture out in search of new discoveries, or entertain new travel experiences? We would be happy to tell our readers all about it. Learn more >
